Explore. Engage. Empower.
Welcome to the BVCSD Experienceships Program! This new initiative promotes career readiness for our students. Our goal is to empower every student with the skills and information to make informed decisions about their future by providing opportunities for experiential learning.

Real-World Learning.
We use the term "Experienceship" because it encompasses our goal of engaging students with real-world experiences like internships, career shadows, mentorship, speakers, worksite tours, and more!

Opportunities Await.
Yes, these look great on college applications, but what's more is that students learn more about both what they like (and, sometimes more importantly--what they don't like!) about varying career fields. In addition to opportunities that students find on their own, Bay High School will share information about job shadows, relevant community events, worksite tour field trips, and more. We are currently working on establishing our 2024-2025 school year opportunities.

Starting in 9th Grade, BHS students can start accumulating and logging Experienceship hours. Upon completion of 30 hours and participation in the BHS Student Experienceships Fair, seniors may earn the Student Experienceship Graduation Cord. Click above for more info!

We are so fortunate to have parents in our district that possess a wide variety of skills and expertise and are willing to pass this along to students. If you are interested in more information about becoming a Community Partner, please complete this form or reach out to Meghan Holden.

We are actively looking for Community Partners to engage with or host students. This could vary from a brief zoom call explaining your career, to a Lunch and Learn, to hosting a worksite tour for students, to providing an internship. Complete this interest form if you would like

Student Experiences

"All the activities [at Mini Medical School Bootcamp & Interactive Experience] contributed to the overall goal of preparing the next generation of surgeons with the added benefit of being really fun. It continued to fuel my growing admiration for the field of medicine. It also improved my finger and hand dexterity and precision using the instruments. Listening to the accounts from other experts there was very insightful as well."

Dr. Bishop's Print & Digital Media Class attended a worksite tour at American Greetings.

They saw painters at work and heard about careers in photography, marketing, AI, audio engineering, writing, finance, law, graphic design...even paper engineering!

"I have had the opportunity to practice digital advertising for several events as an intern with Woman Up Cleveland. This internship has fostered my creativity and has allowed for me to observe and participate in social media marketing and event planning. I have made a ton of connections with women business owners in the Cleveland area."
-Jillian, 12th Grade

"As a Teen Fellow with the Currently Under Curation program at the Cleveland Museum of Art, I’ve met people I never would have met otherwise, and it’s just been a really cool experience. We select artwork from the CMA’s education art collection. The exhibit will be on display in June 2024."
