Happy First Day of Winter! Did you know the Winter Solstice marks the moment when half the Earth is tilted the farthest from the sun? It usually happens Dec 21 or 22. Today we will experience the least amount of daylight for the year. And it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere!

Congratulations to the following students for having their artwork chosen for the Superintendent’s Choice Art Awards: Avery Prendes, Maxfield Krueger, Sawyer Kerns & Isabella Bruno. Artwork was chosen from the Fall District Art Show.
Third-grader Avery Prendes ' artwork "Shells" was chosen for the Supt.'s Choice Art Awards. She completed the piece last year as a second-grader in Mrs. Jama Jennings' class. Avery wasn't able to attend the Board Meeting Monday night, so we'd like to make sure she is recognized.

BMS 8th graders learning French received a visit from Mrs. Combe, who talked about school life in France. Students learned about the grading system, schedules, extracurriculars and learning English. Mrs. Combe is a parent in the district who also works in food services at BMS.
Second-grader "Miss Caroline" is Normandy's Assistant Principal for the Day! She won the prize as part of a raffle during Normandy PTA's "Back to School Bash" this fall. Congratulations, Miss Caroline, and we love your badge!

Glenview recently held its first-ever Jingle Jam event! Families were invited to attend in their pajamas, and participate in a variety of holiday activities, games and crafts in the classrooms. The evening ended with cookies and hot chocolate in the gym! Yum.
