Attention 7th and 8th Graders.
Power of the Pen is back, and the fun begins this week. If you are a 7th or 8th grader who enjoys creative writing, please join us this Friday after school in Mrs. Goldberg's room for our first meeting of the year. This meeting will begin around three and run until 3:30. Even those students involved in fall sports can participate.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Goldberg or Mr. Barberic. We hope to see you there!
The chess club is back, and there will be a short meeting with Mr. Kevesdy in room 138 of the 6th-grade hallway this Thursday at 3:00 p.m. See you then!
Sports Report:
Yesterday, the 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Lakewood Garfield Middle School and beat their opponents in two sets, 25-12 and 25-13. All the girls saw plenty of action as well!
Morgen Parris served for 16 points, 7 of which were aces; Reagan Miller served for 9 points with four aces; Maeve McManamon served 3 points with one ace; Amelia Vasil served for 2 points, 7 of which were aces; Reagan Miller served for 9 points with four aces; Maeve McManamon served 3 points with one ace; Amelia Vasil served for 2 points; and Mia Urbansky served for 1 point.
Four of the Rockets were hard hitters offensively. Lanie Fischer, Grace Kehoe, and Maeve McManamon each had one kill, while Morgan Parris had four.
Defensively, Maeve McManamon had two digs, and Reagan Miller and Amelia Vasil each had one-piece.
This brings the Rocket's record to 4-2. They are looking to gain another victory on Wednesday as they travel to Parma and are finally back home on Thursday!

The 8th-grade girls' volleyball team kept their winning streak going last night with a win over the Rangers of Lakewood Garfield. The Rockets won in 2 games with scores of 25-15 and 25-16. Lauren Vecchio led the team with four aces, followed by Bridget McAlea with 3. Addie Ebenger, Rachel Kraft, and Audrey Weingart added 3 kills a piece, followed by Anna Spellman with 2. Sawyer Kerns contributed two blocks and one monster kill. Great win!
