BMS Announcements:
Congratulations to anyone who earned the Subway coupon for riding their bike to school today. A few important reminders…Please walk your bike on school property, never ride your bike on the football or softball fields, lock your bike, and DO NOT LOSE YOUR RIDE CARD! Put it in a safe place and put your name on the back so if it’s lost, it may be returned to you.
Tis the season once again for the Hoops for Heart 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament. The event takes place on May 15h and is open to anyone in 5th-8th grade. Pick up a registration form from the Main Office or your science teacher, get a team together, and submit it to Mrs. Crumbacher or Mr. I with the entrance fee. All proceeds support the American Heart Association.
Attention 8th Graders! We will be celebrating the end of our time together at Bay Middle School with an 8th Grade Spring Dance. It is Friday, May 10th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and it is $5 at the door. You won't need to dress up. We hope to see you there!
A big congratulations to 8th grade Power of the Pen competition writer Nora French for earning a Platinum Pen Award from Regionals for her story "Stay Strong." Nora's story will be published in the Book of Winners 2024, and she will receive her award at States—well done, Nora!
Attention all Power of the Pen Members:
At this week's meeting, we will be selecting our favorite stories for our magazine this year. If you cannot make it to this meeting, please see Mrs. Goldberg or Mr. Barberic (especially if you are a State competition writer!)
See you Thursday!
Sports Report:
Congratulations to the softball team on Saturday's 16-8 win over Clearview. The game was played as part of the Softball and Baseball Community Day at Bay High School. The Rockets did not disappoint. We want to congratulate our 8th graders on their first win at the varsity field.
And by the way, fans, you can see the Rockets in action after school this Wednesday AND Thursday. Both games will begin at about 4:30. Go, Rockets!
Let’s remember to RESPECT OUR COMMUNITY with KINDNESS, EMPATHY, and TOLERANCE.
Show your ROCKET PRIDE !!!
