BMS Announcements

Next week, Bay Middle School will hold a food drive. The dates are December 11 -

15.

Canned and dry foods are welcome, but keep in mind that this is not a way to get

rid of Thanksgiving leftovers like turkey, ham, or mashed potatoes. We need

non-perishables.

The event is sponsored by the Acerix Chromebook Repair Class and Builders

Club.

If you want to know what to donate, look at one of the posters in the halls (and

trust me, there are a lot of posters).

Oh yes, one more thing, PLEASE DONATE!!!

Attention Power of the Pen.  Today's meeting will take place in Mr. Barberic's classroom.  It will be a sharing meeting, so please bring a story you want to read.  If you prefer not to share, please join us and listen.  See you in room 144 around 3:05.

Attention Ski Club Members: A brief mandatory meeting in the library after school will be held on Tuesday, December 12th. See Mrs. Costanzo in room 168 if you are unable to attend.

Beginning Monday and running all next week, Builders Club is teaming up with the 8th grade Town Council, and the Acerix Club will be holding their annual Community Drive Contest. Bring in items such as beans, rice, whole grain cereals, and pasta. There are posters around the building with detailed lists. Take a picture of the requested items and look through your cupboards. The classroom that donates the most items from each grade level will receive a donut breakfast! So, when you’re out shopping this weekend, remember to pick up a few items for the Community Drive.

Sports Report

The 7th-grade girls basketball team chalked up another victory last night against a scrappy Lakewood team. A back-and-forth first-half battle led to only a 1-point Rocket lead at the game's midpoint. Fortunately, a second-half surge led by Anna Spellman and Audrey Weingart, who both finished the game with 10 points each, led the Rocket attack in the 3rd and 4th quarters to help the team claim their second victory of the week, 35-21. Maggie Anderson scored 5 points and kept her three-point streak alive by making at least one 3-pointer in each of her last four games, while Chloe Kazma pounded the boards all game long and chipped in 6 points. Meg Webster and Claire Filiatraut contributed to the scoring with 2 points each as well. The Lady Rockets are back at it again tonight, playing their third game in the last four days against Shiloh.

Let’s remember to RESPECT OUR COMMUNITY with KINDNESS, EMPATHY, and TOLERANCE.

Show your ROCKET PRIDE !!!
